HIV has become a nameless, faceless epidemic. All too often, misconceptions and tired stereotypes overshadow the truth about the disease. According to the Florida Department of Health, these stereotypes hinder people from getting tested. Thus, the desire and need to unveil the true Faces of HIV. Through portraits, video interviews, and personal journals of HIV-positive volunteers, a Mobile Art Exhibit was created. This initiative aimed to bring the stark reality of the disease directly to communities that the disease is affecting the most in Florida, emphasizing that HIV can happen to anyone.
